The company was founded in 1999 with the assistance and support of Hollard
Insurance and Hannover Life Re, Altrisk administers and performs risk assessment
on Altrisk products on behalf of Hollard Insurance, but the bulk of risk is reinsured
by Hannover Re. Hollard is responsible for all client claims made against Hollard
Life Insurance policies.
In addition to Hannover Re, the Reinsurance Group of America also carries some of
Altrisk’s risks. Altrisk believe that in doing so they offer their clients outstanding
service by combining the focused approach of Hollard Insurance while the risk is

Hollard Insurance Group
Established in 1980, Hollard Insurance group specializes in short-term and life
insurance. They are currently South Africa’s largest independent insurer. Currently,
more than 4.5 million South Africans are insured or own a policy underwritten by
