Pro Sano medical aid was established in 1976 in the Western Cape. Pro
Sano currently boasts over 32,000 members comprising members in the public and private
sector as well as private individuals. Although the Pro Sano medical scheme initially
targeted mainly people in the Western Cape, it is now a national scheme and caters
for all South Africans.

Pro Sano have the following plan options available:
ProVision
This is a
hospital plan option for healthy people
who only require in-hospital cover and maternity cover.
ProClassic
This is Pro Sano’s comprehensive plan with a flexible medical savings account.
ProVider
Provider is a young family option with essential in-hospital and out-of-hospital
cover.
ProCedure
This is a low-cost option which makes use of pre-selected service providers offering
unlimited GP consultations and medication. It also includes hospitalisation to a
maximum of R150,000 per family per year. Pro Sano medical aid scheme’s ProCedure
option starts as low as R378 per month for the primary member with an income of
between R0 and R4,000 p/m.
