Established in April 1998 as Commercial Union Health, Resolution Medical
Aid has grown to over 40 000 members with over 110 000 dependants to date. Resolution
Medical Aid occupies the affordable healthcare space within the medical aid industry.
Resolution has also recently increased their portfolio to include various additional
products to suit every individual need.

2010 Benefits
The current product range is detailed below:
Hospital Plan
• This plan offers hospital cover only. It is ideal for young, healthy individuals
who can afford to pay their day-to-day medical expenses themselves.
• In hospital benefits are paid out at 150% of NRPL.
• Cover of R5mil international emergency travel insurance for international visits
less than 90 days.
• Membership to ResoTot and ResoBaby included.
• Emergency cover via ER24.
• Membership to the Resolution Preventative Program.
• The HealthCard is an optional extra which members can add to their policy. It
acts as a debit card where members can save funds for day-to-day medical expenses.
Fundamental Plan
• The Fundamental Health Plan only covers hospital and health care at specified
Service Providers. This option ONLY covers PMB medical expenses.
• Cover of R5mil international emergency travel insurance for international visits
less than 90 days.
• Membership to ResoTot and ResoBaby included.
• Emergency cover via ER24.
• Membership to the Resolution Preventative Program.
• The HealthCard is an optional extra which members can add to their policy. It

Progressive Plan
• Aimed at young families and individuals, the Progressive Plan offers sufficient
hospital and day-to-day healthcare benefits.
